DYNAMICS 365 – POTENTIAL ISSUE WITH MANY TO MANY RELATIONSHIPS

Some Microsoft Dynamics 365 users are being affected by a bug that is disrupting how Many to Many Relationships work in their environment. The bug is with Dynamics 365 CRM many-to-many relationships where a contact, lead, or account is one of the related entities. The bug causes the + sign (add new) button to be missing which prevents users from creating the many relationships. Below is a screen shot of the issue.

  • The top grid is missing the + sign (this is the relationship that includes contacts).
  • The bottom grid has the + sign as that relationship does not include contacts.
  • It also causes the ‘ADD NEW <Entity>’ and ‘ADD EXISTING <Entity>’ buttons in the Related Entity Subgrid to be missing.

Microsoft will be releasing a permanent fix for this issue tentatively within the next three weeks. In the interim, Microsoft has released a managed solution that acts as a workaround to re-enable the + button for the aforementioned Many-to-Many Relationships. The managed solution adds back the button to accounts, leads, and contact records where Many to Many Relationships exist.
