“An Error has Occurred” When Logging Into Dynamics 365

Microsoft recently updated their Authentication Protocol on 2/1/19.  This update caused many users to see a generic error that said “An error has occurred” when attempting to log into Dynamics 365 (see screenshot).  The error was due to using a bookmarked URL to access the Dynamics 365 instance.  The resolution was:

Clear the browser cache
Close & reopen the browser
Type in the Dynamics 365 URL directly
Sign in, and recreate the bookmark
